    As one of the newest members of the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce, it is our pleasure to invite you to our New Member Breakfast!
     
    The New Member Breakfast will be held on October 16 at 8:00 a.m. at the WMWO Chamber of Commerce office located at 112 Professional Dr. in West Monroe.
     
    We would like to invite two of your company's representatives to attend this event and learn more about the benefits of being a WMWO Chamber member, programs and services offered by our office and ways to get involved. The breakfast is an informal and casual way to meet WMWO Chamber staff members, Board of Directors and Chamber Diplomats.

    Sacred Vessels, Artist's Reception: Lynda Frese & Babette Beaullieu at LEVEE GALLERY Thursday, October 18, 4-7pm Lynda Frese layers pigments collected from around the world & combines them with egg tempera, images & photographs of ancient sites & the natural world. Babette Beaullieu is an interdisciplinary sculptor whose organic sculptures have a visceral quality that is minimalistic influenced by Zen Philosophy. On view through late November. Levee Gallery specializes in contemporary artwork created by emerging and established regional artists. The gallery also hosts events with the goal of broadening the understanding and appreciation of visual arts and culture. Kathy Biedenharn, the owner, and Brooke Cassady, curator, aim to connect visual arts to other organizations and within the community. All events are free and open to the public unless otherwise stated. The gallery is open Tuesday and Wednesday 11am-5pm, Thursday 11am-7pm, Friday 11am-4pm and Saturday 11am-3pm or by appointment (call 318.537.9006).     In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, recognized annually in October, Glenwood’s Breast Health Center will host its 8th Annual Think Pink Tea on Friday, October 19th at the West Monroe Convention Center.

    Due to limited seating, reservations are required. A $15.00 admission includes the program, luncheon, shopping privileges and tea. Tickets are available for purchase online (see link). Call 329-8590 for ticket information.

    Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Omicron Iota Omega Chapter, will host its 15th Annual Community Health Fair on Saturday, October 20, 2018, from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM at Roy Neal Shelling, Sr. Elementary School in Monroe, Louisiana. In keeping with this year's theme: "Exemplifying Excellence in Healthcare and Wellness," a variety of health and wellness screenings will be offered to the public at no cost. These services will include eye exams, dental consults, diabetic screening, bone density screening, blood pressure and cholesterol checks, as well as weight, height, and BMI checks. Other on-site resources will include prescription medication counseling, mental health counseling, asthma education, diabetes and stroke prevention education. In addition, this year's event will feature a Men's Health Forum led by Dr. Thomas Williams and the Life Share mobile blood donation center. Arrive early and complete your "health passport" for a chance to win a $100 gift card. One lucky boy and girl will win a new bicycle! Meals and healthy snacks will be served.

    The MSO opens its season with Dvorák’s rousing, Bohemian-flavored Symphony No. 8 in G Major, Op. 88 and showpieces of Saint-Saëns, with the fiery virtuoso violinist Melissa White. The orchestra also marks the 100th anniversary of Leonard Bernstein’s birth with Selections from West Side Story.
